CARE Denmark
Care Denmark is a private and independent development organisation, working to combat poverty and improve living standards for the population in developing countries. CARE Denmark focuses on agriculture and natural resources with projects that aim to make communities self sufficient in the long run.
Danida / Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Danida is a collective term for the part of the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ activities, which is concerned with development policy and state-financed activities in the fight against poverty in the developing countries.
Danish Mission Council Development Department (DMCDD)
DMCDD is an umbrella organisation for missionary societies and other church-based organisations, who work with relief assistance and development aid in the third world. Currently DMCDD has 27 member organisations, and mainly works within health, education and strengthening of local civil society.
DPOD – Disabled Peoples Organisation Denmark
Disabled Peoples Organisations Denmark
DPOD was founded in 1934 (as “De Samvirkende Invalideorganisationer” – DSI) and has 32 national member organisations representing more than 320.000 people with disabilities in Denmark. DPOD is the only Danish umbrella organisation in the disability field.
EC – European Commission
The EC embodies and upholds the general interest of the Union and is the driving force in the Union’s institutional system. Its four main roles are to propose legislation to Parliament and the Council, to administer and implement Community policies, to enforce Community law (jointly with the Court of Justice) and to negotiate international agreements, mainly those relating to trade and cooperation.
Ibis
Ibis is a Danish NGO, belongs to its members and works at local, national and global level, to reach equal access to education, advocacy and resources for disfranchised people in Africa and Latin America.
International Media Support (IMS)
IMS was established in 2001 in the wake of the tragic events in Rwanda and the former Yugoslavia. In the 1990s, these and other conflicts saw media being manipulated and used as a tool to fuel violent conflict. IMS was set up in response to this trend to help local media working in conflict-affected areas to remain operative, as well as take the initiative in ad- dressing instability and violence in their communities.
SIDA / Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency
Sida is the Swedish development cooperation agency under the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs. The overall goal of Swedish development cooperation is to contribute to making it possible for poor people to improve their living conditions.
The Project Counselling Service
The Project Counselling Service (PRNGO)
PRNGO was established in December 1995 in response to a general need among small Danish NGOs to exchange experiences and build the general capacity of staff and volunteers. Today it is a well- established association of more than 200 small and medium sized Danish NGOs.
Thematic Forum
Thematic Forum was established in 2005. The goal is to cover the Danish NGO’s need for knowledge-sharing and exchanging experiences regarding several central themes with a view to enhance the quality of the member organisa- tions cooperation with partners in South. Particularly within the areas of advocacy, organisational capacity building and monitoring and evalutation.
UNDP
UNDP is the UN’s global development network, an organisation advocating for change and connecting coutries to knowledge, experience and resources to help people build a better life. UNDP works in 168 countries world wide.
World Bank
The World Bank is a source of financial and technical assistance to developing countries around the world. They are not a bank in the common sense. The World Bank is made up of two unique development institutions owned by 186 member countries – the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the International Development Association (IDA).
3F (Fælles Fagligt Forbund)
3F is the largest trade union in Denmark and has 352,588 members. The union organises skilled and unskilled workers – both in Denmark and developing countries.
